Come live on the lake

Home Care, Caregiver Seeking - We are seeking an elderly man to share our home with starting in December 2011. I am an RN with 34 years of experience in many different areas of nursing, the most recent being in hospice care. I have decided to open up my home to care for 1 elderly gentleman who is in need of extra TLC. This could be someone who is no longer able to live alone or already residing in assisted living but may be declining and in need of more care than that setting is able to provide. I am requesting a man because my husband will also be providing care and his comfort level is with men. Currently there are 3 in my home: myself, my husband and my very spry 84 y.o. mother. I will only take in 1 gentleman which means he will have our undivided attention! The room that is available is a large space which has a bedroom area and a living room area. There is a private bathroom/shower. At present the room is furnished but can also be unfurnished if he would like to bring his own things! Our home is situated on a very quiet lake with a large multilevel outside deck and screened porch. The water is very clean and 'swimmable' in the summer and 'fishable' all year long. My husband is available to assist with those activities if desired! I believe that we can provide a wonderful home and am so excited to get this started. It will also give you time to come and look at our home and for everyone to meet to make sure this is a 'match made in heaven'. I know that we could fit 3 beds in this space and maybe sometime down the line I will think about this. For now I am interested in having 1 person only and will commit to this person that the entire space is his for as long as he wants it. For this reason my rate will be $100.00/day (medications & incontinent supplies not included). I have researched local assisted living facilities and see that the prices range from $2200 to $4500/mo. I think my rate is very fair for many reasons, the No.1 reason being the 1:1 care. Please feel free to call me at any time if you have questions or you can contact me via e-mail.
