Live In Aid Needed For Paraplegic Man

Home Care, Caregiver Needed - Full-time, live in aid needed for lively, active paraplegic man in Yorktown Heights, beginning April 8th. You must be legal to work in the US, and travel in and out of the country freely as some travel is required. Drivers lic. a plus. You must have experience dealing with a paraplegic and have capability to assist with transfers with Hoyer lift AND board transfers for 6'2" man. You will assist about 5 hours/day (mostly mornings) with showering, bowel training/toilet, dressing and transfers and keeping bedroom and bathroom clean and tidy, then some help with evening routine (pajamas and transfer back to bed). Some general help would be great - specifically dealing with medication and supplies (we have a weekly housekeeper for cleaning). You should also be able to monitor blood pressure and track medication schedule. Some flexibility is key - some mornings we may finish quickly and some afternoon projects might require your occasional help. You will have your own room and bathroom (you will need to share bathroom with occasional house guests) with plenty of privacy, in a lovely home on a cul-de-sac in Yorktown Heights. We are a fun, outgoing family of two - with two grown sons - and have a fun, busy life that includes plenty of travel and laughter and are looking for someone who has the right skill set and experience, but is also easy-going and a good fit personality wise.
